The "Biodiversity for All" project has been officially started

The “Biodiversity for All” project is officially underway in St. Neots Old Cemetery! While the transformation is at beginning, we’re excited to share the steps we’ve taken to enhance the natural beauty of the area and create a more welcoming habitat for local wildlife.

Here’s what’s been achieved so far:

Shrub and Hedge Planting: We’ve started planting shrubs and hedges that will, in time, create green corridors for wildlife, offering food and shelter to small animals and birds.

Wildflower Planting: Areas for wildflowers have been introduced to attract pollinators like bees and butterflies. As they grow, they’ll bring bursts of colour and life to the cemetery.

Maintaining Wild Grass Areas: We’re continuing to maintain wild grass sections to promote a more natural landscape that supports local flora and fauna.

Spring Bulbs: Spring-flowering bulbs have been planted, and while they haven’t bloomed yet, they’ll add vibrant colour to the cemetery in the coming months.

Though it may take time for these improvements to fully blossom, we’re excited to watch nature take its course. This is part of our long-term commitment to enhancing the natural beauty of St. Neots for years to come.

Come by and take a look, and be sure to revisit as the project matures!
